Meet our dynamic team:
Bernard studied BCom majoring in information systems and accounting at the University of Cape Town and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 1997 after completing of his articles with Deloitte & Touche. Bernard has extensive international and local experience having worked for nearly three years with financial institutions in the UK (London) and having audited numerous companies listed on the JSE in South Africa. He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Tiaan’s involvement in the accounting industry goes back to 2005 when he joined BVSA. His academic background includes a BCom Honours and a CFP qualification. He was appointed as a director of BVSA in 2009 and Operational Manager of BVSA in 2018. Part of his daily activities includes supplying management and operational support to all BVSA affiliated companies and joined The Tax Shop in November 2020.

Operations are currently conducted from our Head Office in Pretoria as well as from all our franchised offices nationwide. Franchise owners are well qualified, knowledgeable, experienced individuals having gained exposure in all sectors of business. Franchisees, together with specialists at Head Office, are well placed to service the needs of individuals and business owners across all types of businesses. While our franchise has traditionally serviced small and medium-sized businesses, we have grown to successfully service large entities too.

OUR VALUES
We pride ourselves on being ethical in the way we conduct business and adhere to a value system with trust, truth, honesty and mutual respect as significant pillars. We have developed an internal Code of Conduct and Values which is aligned to the Code of Professional Conduct published by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (consistent in all material aspects with the International Federation of Accountants’ (IFAC) code). The Code of Professional Conduct sets out the ethical and professional attitudes and behaviour expected of accountants.
